Construction of New Emergency Block

MULTAN, December 03, 2009 (Balochistan Times): The Punjab government has released Rs 160 million for the construction of an emergency block at Chaudhary Pervez Elahi Institute of Cardiology in the city. Executive director CPEIC Professor Ali Raza Gardezi while talking to journalists said the new block would consist of 55 beds and the construction work would begin soon. He disclosed the outdoor would be expanded to facilitate more patients. He said about 350,000 patients had been examined at the outdoor during the last two years. Similarly, 54,348 patients were received at the emergency ward 7,157 of them were admitted to the hospital, he added. He said four operations were being performed in a day in the hospital, among them three in the poor category.
